Huawei at Number 70 in 2017 Best Global Brands Report

This is the third consecutive year that Huawei made it on Interbrand’s 2017 Best Global Brands Report, steadily climbing its ranks. Last year, the company sat at 72. This year they are now ranked 70. The ranking is well-deserved, as Huawei has long established itself for high quality premium smartphones, and gained a reputation for providing reliable network infrastructure for carriers.

During our visit to the Huawei University and their R&D facilities, we saw the company’s dedication to improve their products. It eventually led to the improvement of their brand value, as they compete  against other industry giants such as Samsung and Apple in the consumer electronics segment. In the first half of 2017, Huawei’s smartphone shipments rose to 70.01 million, a 20.6 percent year-on-year increase – outperforming the industry average. Huawei’s premium flagship smartphones HUAWEI P and HUAWEI Mate series have cemented the brand in high-end markets.

According to industry analysts IDC, shipment volumes of Huawei smartphones made it the largest manufacturer in China, becoming the third largest worldwide in Q2 2017. The company’s smartphone global market share has also grown to 11.3 percent, up from 9.8 percent over the same period last year – placing the company within 1 percent of industry stalwart Apple.

In addition to its range of smartphones, Huawei also showcased a trio of new MateBook PC products, combining style and portability with powerful performance. Since its launch, the new HUAWEI MateBook range has received significant praise and recognition from media and consumers alike. Sadly, these products are not available in the Philippines.

Huawei continues to be recognized by institutions and included in the world’s most respected brand rankings lists. In the latest Fortune 500, Huawei was placed in the Top 100 for the first time, from 129 to 83. Moreover, the company was named as the only Chinese brand in Forbes’ most valuable global brands list in 2017.
