OnePlus 5T: Specs, Price

Another flagship killer in the midst? As always, OnePlus releases one of the most powerful smartphones in this price range in the OnePlus 5T. The handset now joins the current crop of smartphones sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio with its own 6-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display.

Inside, the OnePlus 5T packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and an Adreno 540 graphics unit. There are two RAM/Storage configurations to choose from — 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB. Personally, I think 6GB is more than enough. The 8GB RAM is a bit overkill. Also, there is no expansion slot, so make sure to choose what you need.

As for the cameras, the OnePlus 5T features a dual rear camera setup of 20MP + 16MP with f/1.7 lens, EIS, PDAF, and a dual LED flash. Their approach for this one is different to what other brands have done. The second sensor is a low-light camera. According to OnePlus, the phone automatically switches to the other sensor in low light. The front camera uses a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 lens, 1080p video recording and auto HDR.

The rest of the specs include a 3,300 mAh battery with Dash Charge (sorry, no wireless charging), a dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.o with aptX HD, a USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack. Also, the phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS v4.7 on top.

The OnePlus 5T will have a retail price of USD499 for the 64GB model, and USD599 for the 128GB. That’s roughly PHP26,000 and PHP31,000 respectively. No news yet if or when it will reach Philippine shores.
