Vivo will showcase the Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning technology at the CES 2108 in Las Vegas. A flagship using the tech could be out as early as first quarter of 2018.
Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning tech
Developed with Vivo global partner Synaptics, the Clear ID FS9500 optical in-display fingerprint scanner could be seen in Vivo smartphone flagships in the early part of 2018. And what better place to showcase that tech than in CES 2018 at Las Vegas.
The technology will allow Vivo to manufacture smartphones with even tinier bezels with a fingerprint scanner in front, where it is more convenient. Synaptics claims that this is twice as fast as 3D facial recognition, requiring only one touch to unlock the phone.

Vivo first unveiled an under-the-display fingerprint scanning technology with then partner Qualcomm at the MWC 2017. They eventually switched to Synaptics, citing speed as the reason for the new partnership.
