Spotify, the world’s most popular music streaming service, has proven its leadership in the industry by announcing that it has passed the 70 million subscription mark.

The service now has over 70 million paid subscribers, with a total of over 140 million including those listening for free. It also came to a surprise that the company has more than twice as many paying subscribers than Apple Music.
Music has always been a part of people’s daily lives. It encompasses race, culture and age. Listening to music has evolved from radios, cassette tapes, CDs and MP3 players. Today, thanks to modern technology, people now have access to a wide array of music, available for free through numerous music streaming apps. Many of them have premium options too, where users can upgrade for a fee and enjoy more features.
Music streaming has changed how people access music. A lot of avid music listeners admit that purchasing music can be a bit pricey. Rather than paying for each song, people can opt to shell out a monthly subscription fee, allowing them to download songs for offline listening and create personalized playlists.

Spotify in the Philippines is not that expensive. A Premium account will cost you only Php129 per month, while students can enjoy the discounted rate of Php65 per month. For families, they can opt for the Premium Family monthly subscription of Php194 per month. The family plan allows up to six people (including the one who subscribed) living on the same address.
