PLDT and Smart has been awarded by Ookla Speedtest for having the fastest internet service in the Philippines.
PLDT, Smart fastest internet in the country
Ookla Speedtest recently released the Ookla Speedtest Awards for the first and second quarter of 2018, recognizing PLDT and Smart as the fastest fixed and wireless internet service in the country.
PLDT was awarded Philippines’ Fastest Fixed Network, achieving a speed score of 17.31, with a top speed of 53.07 Mbps for download and 54.31 Mbps for upload. SKY was second fastest with a speed score of 10.89, followed by Smart Bro with 9.79, and Globe with 6.58.
On the other hand, Smart is the Philippines’ fastest Mobile Network for the first half of 2018. The telco managed a speed score of 14.98, with with average speeds of 17.25 Mbps for download and 7.65 Mbps for upload. Globe follows at second with a speed score of 9.93.
On the global stage, Singapore sits at the top for fastest fixed internet service with a download speeds of up to 180.57 Mbps. While on mobile, Qatar comes in first with download speeds of 63.33 Mbps.
