The ASUS gaming smartphone generated quite the buzz when it was announced. But with little news about its availability, we were left to wonder whether or not we could see it locally.
Today, though, we can stop wondering because the hotly talked about smartphone is coming to the Philippines.
The company recently announced that the ASUS ROG Phone is indeed arriving to local shores. The handset will debut on October 28, 2018 at the Electronics Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) at the SMX Convention.

Announced back in June at the Computex 2018, the ASUS ROG Phone features specs ideal for gaming. It comes with a 6-inch AMOLED 18:9 display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 2.1 storage.
The phone comes with Ultrasonic Air-Triggers, a unique feature where players can use the phone’s edges as shoulder buttons, just like you would a regular controller. It also has an in-built vapor cooling system, dual front speakers, and a large 4,000 mAh battery.
One of the phone’s more interesting features are the host of gaming accessories that ASUS made for it. Gamers can choose between the classic gamepad attachment, the AeroActive Cooler, the TwinView dock, and a DeX like dock station.
As for the price, ASUS Philippines has kept mum about it. But we are guessing it will be somewhere north of PHP47,000.
