There are numerous Twitter client apps for Android and iOS, some of which have already been acquired by Twitter itself. Most of these apps offer improved features compared to the native Twitter app.
Slices for Twitter is a non-official, third-party Twitter app that offers features not available on the native Twitter app or other Twitter apps for that matter. Apart from offering a gorgeous UI, Slices is a feature-packed Twitter app, although it is not yet as polished as one would like it to be. It’s a work in progress and in time, this app should only get better.
The name Slices come from the app’s ability to create ‘Slices’ based on a user’s interests, categorized into particular customized topics. In essence, it’s like Twitter’s Lists feature, but the Slices app offer more. For one, Slices can filter tweets, giving users easy access to tweets relating to top events. It also offers users the ability to mute individual users, hashtags and keywords. Slices also allow bookmarking of individual Twitter users, a nice feature if you want quick access to their tweets. Slices also has an Explore feature that is helpful in looking for recommended users, trending topics, and of course, tweets based on events.
The app is free to download for Android and iOS devices. It looks best on tablets, but it also looks good on smartphones.
