LG Optimus G Quad-Core Android Phone Now Official

LG’s next flagship phone is now official.  The LG Optimus G is a 4.7-inch quad-core phone that sets to compete with flagship phones from other manufacturers like Samsung’s Galaxy S III and HTC’s One X.  The LG Optimus G will first launch in Korea in September and will be available globally afterwards.

The LG Optimus G boasts of a fast 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor paired with 2GB of RAM.  That should translate to a blazing fast performance, although the handset will come with Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Jelly Bean at launch.  The display is one of the highlights of the LG Optimus G.  The 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS display uses a new laminated touchscreen that’s called the G2 Touch Hybrid Display. According to LG the new design reduces the screen’s thickness by 30 percent, hence, the LG Optimus G will come in at only 8.45mm thick.  The display is also power efficient as it’s said to consume 70% less power than AMOLED display.

The rest of the specs include an impressive 13-megapixel camera, LTE connectivity, 32GB of storage, NFC capability and 2,100mAh battery.

  1. what’s bad about LG is they don’t do regular updates and if they do, it takes them a while. this phone should be good though. 13-megapixel cam, 32GB storage, 2GB RAM. wow.

For them to be able to compete with other companies like Samsung and Sony, they should roll out prices that won’t soar higher than the other companies stated above. If not, then this mobile phone might get almost no user here in the Philippines – just like their own tablet… – just saying.. :)

  3. if i may guess, this will reach 30k, probably more. i’d still choose Samsung over LG
