LG Optimus L9 Announced, Features 4.7-inch Display and 1GHz Dual-Core CPU

LG has a new smartphone in the L-series lineup which features stylish mid-range smartphones.  After the Optimus L3, L5 and L7, the newest handset in the series is the Optimus L9 and by far, it’s the star in the bunch.

The LG Optimus L9 does not aim to compete with its superstar brother, the just-announced LG Optimus G, but it is a very capable handset nonetheless.  It runs on a 1GHz dual-Core CPU paired with 1GB of RAM and features a 4.7-inch IPS display, a 5-megapixel camera and a 2,150mAh battery. Design-wise, it’s borrow a bit from the Samsung Galaxy S II but the Optimus L9 looks more stylish and the bezels on the side are much thinner.

Among the highlight features of the Optimus L9 are the customizable keyboard and the language translation app.  The keyboard on the Optimus L9 is called My Style Keypad which allows users to adjust the key placement.  The language translation app is called QTranslator and it translates 44 different languages into 64 native languages.

  1. The design looks similar to the lower-end model, Optimus L7.  I just entered an event on LG’s facebook page.  If I win, I will get a free Optimus 4X HD or L7.  Either one of them is just good enough for me.  (This reminded me of an event from facebook.  You can participate in it and win the previous model, Optimus L7.  It is on LG facebook and called Qick Memo.)

  2. Poor software update that keeps me not to buy LG anymore. Until now no upgrade yet for first dual core the optimus 2x
