Local phone brand MyPhone just launched a new Android phone called the MyPhone A888 Duo. The handset is priced competitively as it is being offered at an introductory price of P7,499, which means the price will probably change in the future. For the price of P7,499, is the MyPhone A888 Duo worth considering? Bear in mind that there’s a Cherry Mobile Flare in the market that was initially offered at P3,990, which makes the Flare quite hard to compete against.
The MyPhone A888 Duo sports a 4.5-inch IPS screen with 960×540 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 512 of RAM, 4GB of internal memory with microSD card support, an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash capable of capturing 720p HD videos, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1800 mAh lithium polymer battery. The MyPhone A888 Duo, from the name itself, has a dual-SIM functionality. In terms of design, it looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S III, which meas the MyPhone A888 Duo looks nice.
Compared to the Cherry Mobile Flare, the MyPhone A888 Duo has better specs. It has a bigger and better 4.5-inch screen, a better main camera and a bigger battery. The rest of the specs of these handsets are quite similar so it’s really up to you if the better specs of the MyPhone A888 Duo is worth the higher price tag. Your other option if you’re looking for a bigger screen is the 5-inch Cherry Mobile Titan which was introduced about a month ago and carries the price tag of P6,499.
