Cherry Mobile just keeps in releasing new phones and there’s no sign that the company will be stopping anytime soon. After the Skyfire 2.0, the latest offering from the local phone brand is an update to the Omega HD simply called the Omega HD 2.0. It appears that Cherry Mobile will be using numerical extensions for future product upgrades.
The Cherry Mobile Omega HD was released about a couple of months ago so it’s rather baffling that Cherry Mobile released a slightly upgraded version. The Omega HD 2.0 is almost similar to the olde Omega HD, with the notable difference being the more powerful processor and the version of Android running on the new device. The Omega HD 2.0 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU whereas the old version only had a 1GHz dual-core processor. The Omega HD 2.0 carries a P8,999 price tag.
Here’s a rundown of the specs of the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0.

Does this have the same dimensions as the first OHD? ‘Coz if it does, we don’t need to wait longer to have the necessary cases/covers for this phone :)
I wonder why Cherry Mobile released Omega HD 2.0 the fact that the first one is all raves up.
also my sentiment
to kill the other brands
WOW! Cherry Mobilel Company is making a smart move among other companies especially its main competitor MyPhone which, their latest flagship phone, the A919i is a success hit. But nonetheless this phone is the answer to them.
Personally, I rather choose CM OHD 2.0 over MPA919i Duo because mainly of its camera and the new version of Android (w/c is 4.2) . The MediaTek MT6589 chipset and PowerVR SGX544MP GPU is similar to that found on myphone A919i. Along with 1GB of RAM and so on… (they have pretty much the same specs overall except for the above mention).
for the PROS and CONS here:
Myphone a919i DUO:
PROS:
-Battery efficient chipset
-Optimum performance of both CPU and GPU
-HD screen (720p)
CONS:
-only 8MP camera (compared to 12MP — OHD and Starmobile Diamond)
-Android 4.1
-Price (SRP. 9,590php)
Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0:
PROS:
-Camera (12MP BSI)
-Android 4.2 (improved camera UI and bugfixes)
-Battery efficient chipset
-Optimum performance of both CPU and GPU
-HD screen (720p)
-Dragon Trail scratch screen protection
-Price (8,999) <500php cheaper than MP A919i duo
CONS:
– TBA
