The new iPhones feature incremental updates from last year’s models. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus retains the screen size (4.7 inch and 5.5 inch, respectively), and the design and and overall look, but added some new color options of silver, gold, space gray, and rose gold.

Most of the upgrades are on the inside of the device. It now uses Apple’s 64-bit A9 chipset, which the company claims to have 70% faster CPU performance and 90% GPU performance over the last generation A8. The camera has been upgraded as well and now uses a 12MP sensor for the main (with 4K recording), and a 5MP for the front. The fingerprint scanner was also upgraded for faster identification.

One of the more interesting upgrades of the new iPhones is the inclusion of the 3D Touch functionality, allowing the device to differentiate between a deep press and a tap. The new functions adds new dimensions when interfacing with iOS, such as calling up commands or shortcuts, depending on duration of your touch.

We were given the chance to check out the new iPhones. Even though our time with it was short, it left a very good impression on us.
