ASUS ZenBook Pro with 5.5-inch SceenPad touchpad launched

ASUS announces the ZenBook Pro. The laptop features a 5.5-inch touchscreen track pad with custom controls for apps.

ASUS wasn’t quite done wowing the crowd at the Computex 2018. Aside from ROG Phone, the company also announced its new line of ASUS ZenBook Pro that comes with a 5.5-inch ScreenPad as its touchpad.

The premium laptops’ highlight feature is the addition of a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display that replaces the touchpad. Aptly called ScreenPad, it is meant to improve multitasking with support for up to four finger gestures.

The ScreenPad has a configurable toolbar which can be swiped down to gain access to an app launcher. It comes with support for various Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, andPowerPoint, as well as multimedia apps YouTube and Spotify. It also has a built-in music player, NumKeys, and a calculator.

Aside from these features, the ScreenPad can also mirror a smartphone through the ASUS Sync app, working as a screen extender of sorts, that works like an additional display.

As for the laptop itself, it will come in three variations — the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 with a 14-inch full HD screen; the two ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 variants, one with a full HD screen, and the other with a 4K touchscreen display.

As for the internals, the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 features an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics card, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage.

The bigger ASUS ZenBook Pro 15, on the other hand, comes with either an 8th-gen intel Intel Core i7 or a Core i9 processor, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 will be available in the Philippines in June 2018 in stores nationwide. It will come following price points:

The ZenBook Pro 14 will launch on a later date.
