HMD Global will roll out Android Pie this month. Midrange devices will get it first.

Nokia and Android Pie

According to reports, HMD Global is set to release the Android Pie update to its smartphones this month. The announcement was made during the launch of the Nokia 7.1.

The first wave of smartphones to get it will be the ones powered by the Snapdragon 600-series processors. Next to get it the following month will include the Nokia 6.1 and 6.1 Plus, and the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco.

One of the advantages of getting a Nokia smartphone is stock Android. The OS is as Google intended, with no skin on top or bloatware to deal with. The results? A cleaner and faster UI and, of course, timely updates for at least 2 years.
