Transcend announces USB Type-C storage products

With the increasing number of smartphones and other devices using USB Type-C, it’s only natural that companies such as Transcend respond with new products that have the port.

Transcends recently announced its new USB Type-C series. The new roster features USB Type-C packing external SSDs and hard drives, card readers, and flash drives.

USB-C External Storage

Transcend offers external storage with the new USB Type-C port. Their new series of USB Type-C portable SSDs, including the ESD230C, ESD240C, and ESD250C, are equipped with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 compatible interface with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), providing transfer speeds of up to 520MB/s. The SSDs are compatible with desktops, laptops, compatible mobile devices, and gaming consoles.

For those who need larger capacities, the StoreJet 25MC is a high capacity drive with a USB Type-C cable. It features a military grade three-stage shock protection system and a SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface.

USB Type-C Memory Card Readers

Transcend has new USB Type-C equipped card readers for next gen laptops and devices. The 3-slot RDC8 card reader supports a wide variety of SD cards, microSD cards, and CF cards. It comes with a USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface for fast and efficient data transfers. For smartphones and tablets, Transcend has the OTG ready RDC2 smart reader.

USB Type-C Flash Drives

Last but not least, Transcend also has new USB Type-C flash drives. The Transcend JetFlash 890 and JetFlash 850 both come with the latest USB 3.1 Type-C port with OTG support for high speed data transfer. The latter sports dual connectors – a USB Type-C port and a regular USB Type-A connector.

Transcend’s new USB Type-C series of products are available where Transcend products are sold.
