Fortnite is no longer available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store

Fortnite has been kicked out from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

According to reports, Epic Games has had enough of Google and Apple taking huge cuts from Fortnite in-app purchases. Its latest update for both iOS and Android versions allowed users to buy in-app purchases directly from Epic, instead of through Apple’s or Android’s system.

The move violated Apple and Google’s app store guidelines, which led to the removal of the game from their respective platforms. Upon checking, Fortnite is indeed gone from the two stores.

Apple and Google require games to go through the Play Store and App Store’s in-app billing system for user purchases, with each taking a 30 percent cut.

For now, iOS users who have Fortnite on their iPhones can still access the game. New gamers won’t be able to download it from the App Store. Android users new to the game can still download and install the game from the Epic Games app launcher.

Fortnite players can buy V-bucks (the game’s currency) at discounted rates directly from Epic.
