The Samsung Galaxy SmartTags were announced together with the new Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Buds Pro.
The Galaxy SmartTags are tracking fobs that connect via Bluetooth to compatible Galaxy devices. It can be attached to keys, bags and even pets to help users keep track of their belongings.
The SmartTags’ Bluetooth has a range of 120m without obstacles. And if your tagged item is out of range, it can be tracked offline through the Galaxy Find Network. The Galaxy Find Network scanned data to find the fob privately. Users can also scroll through a history of where the tag’s been to retrace it.
In addition to features above, the SmartTags can also work with other compatible IoT devices through the SmartThings app. It can, for instance, trigger the app to turn on the lights in your home as you approach it.
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTags starts with a price of Php 1,799 in the Philippines. It can come in singles or pairs. Both the Samsung Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra come with free SmartTags, along with the Buds Live or Buds Pro, Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and a 25W wall charger.
