GCash to rollout GInvest this February

GCash will soon rollout new investment funds on GInvest.

For those not familiar, GInvest or “Invest Money” is a GCash feature that allows users to easily invest in different companies and other money market funds for as little as Php 50. The transaction is done straight from the e-wallet app without going through traditional investing channels.

Martha Sazon, President and CEO of Mynt, recently revealed on Facebook the new funds that’s coming to GInvest. These include PH Bonds, Global Technology (Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Alphabet/Google), Consumer Funds (Amazon, Alibaba, Nintendo, Sea/Shopee, Activision Blizzard), and PH Equity (Globe, Ayala, SM, etc.). Users can invest as low as Php 50 for Philippine instruments and Php 1,000 for global funds.

Further, Sazon adds GInvest’s potential of earning more than the usual interest rates offered by banks, allowing of up to 78-percent return of investments.

At the time of this article, the GCash Invest Money feature is temporarily unavailable. Previously, users can place invest on mutual funds and UITF companies through GInvest.
