Huawei recently announced the list of devices that will get EMUI 12. The update is coming to global units, encompassing over 14 models. For those wondering about HarmonyOS, that, unfortunately, is reserved for Chinese smartphones.

The list includes an impressive set of Huawei phones that date back as far as 2017. It covers 28 models, with the likes of the P20 and Mate 10 series, the popular Nova 5T from 2019, and of course, current flagships Mate 40 and P40 series. The newly announced Nova 9 will come with EMUI 12 right out of the box.

The OTA update is scheduled to roll out in the first half of 2022.

Its interesting to note that Huawei has not mentioned if EMUI 12 is going to be based on Android 12. It is likely going to be just a skin update enhancements to its cross-device integration, new animation schemes, and a redesigned UI that includes a new notification shade.
