realme launches the realme 9 5G SE, one of two new phones in the 9 series. Here, realme amps up the value with specs and features not found in this range.

Here, SE means Speed Edition. And the realme 9 5G SE lives up to that with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, a faster chipset than the Snapdragon 695 inside the realme 9 Pro. It is paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage.

realme 9 5G SE specs

At the front, the realme 9 5G SE boasts another first in this price range — a 144Hz 6.6-inch FHD IPS display. It also has a 240Hz touch sampling rate. In comparison, the realme 9 Pro’s display “only” has a 120Hz refresh rate.

At the back, the smartphone has a 48MP main camera with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth secondary cameras. While for selfies, it has a 16MP shooter.

It also features a 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The 9 Pro has 33W fast charging, which likely won’t be that much different in terms of charging speed.

realme 9 5G SE specs

The realme 9 5G SE is available in Azure Glow and Starry Glow colorways. It is priced at INR 19,999 for the 6GB + 128GB, and INR 22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB. Converted, that’s around a surprising ~Php 13,700 and ~Php 15,700, respectively, which, if you think about it, looks really good considering what it brings.

Unfortunately, we don’t know if it’s coming to the Philippines. But if it does, then we might have a strong contender for the value-for-money crown.
