PLDT capped off 2021 with historic high revenues for its Enterprise business. The telco is keen for another breakout year as the economy opens up following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite a challenging economic environment, PLDT Enterprise continues to serve the ICT and digital essentials that enable large companies and MSMEs to adapt to the new normal. Enterprise revenues grew to ₱42.2 billion, its highest reported earnings to date. Reporting an annual yearly increase from ₱31.3 billion since 2016, Enterprise’s 2021 full-year performance places it on track to a breakout this year.
“We anticipate Enterprise revenues would grow on the back of the gradual reopening of businesses and opportunities to serve the needs of global hyperscalers with our expanded data centers,” said PLDT and Smart President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio.
Within PLDT’s data or broadband service revenues of ₱139.7B for 2021, revenues from its ICT services grew 14% to ₱4.8 billion, while revenues from Corporate data increased by 6% to ₱22 billion in 2021.
PLDT’s data center expansion further builds on the future growth of its corporate data and ICT services, ensuring the delivery of services for businesses’ digital transformations, cybersecurity, and business continuity.
“The next battlefront will be in Data Centers where PLDT has invested significantly, and we are prepared to defend this stronghold as pioneers in the industry. Our latest build out, the VITRO Sta. Rosa, our largest data center yet, further reinforces our commitment to be globally at par with international DC providers, while supporting the government’s efforts to establish the Philippines as the next premiere destination for the global hyperscaler market,” PLDT and Smart FVP and Head of Enterprise Business Group and ePLDT Chief Commercial Officer Jojo G. Gendrano.
To support the needs of Enterprise customers, PLDT has invested in fortifying its network backbone, expanding transport capacities for its domestic and international cable systems with an unrivaled capacity of 66TB and 19TB, respectively, by the end of 2021.
Serving the digital transformations of large industries, the Enterprise business has established strong partnerships for building digital transformation domain expertise and leading platforms that enable SMEs, Corporates, the Public Sector, and Global businesses to leverage the power of technology, and accelerate innovations in their operations and elevating the customer experience.
