HBO’s House of the Dragon is renewed for season 2 after one episode

HBO will renew the House of the Dragon for season 2 after just airing one episode.

The show had a very successful first week with nearly 10 million people watching the premier with HBO claiming the number reached 20 million in the next four days.

The House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the Game of Throne, chronicling the rise and fall of House Targaryen. It’s based on George R.R. Martin’s book, “Fire & Blood.”

The first season has 10 episodes which reportedly cost HBO USD20 million apiece. The show started streaming in the Philippines on August 22, with the finale set to air on October 23.

The House of the Dragon stars Paddy Considine (HBO’s The Third Day and The Outsider), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint (It’s a Sin, Doctor Who), Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, and Rhys Ifans.

Additional cast includes Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes and Savannah Steyn.
