PLDT Global, the international arm of PLDT, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bru-Haas (B) SDN BHD. This agreement marks a significant step in focusing on enhancing international subsea connectivity.
The MOU leverages the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) and Apricot subsea cable systems. PLDT Global will provide Bru-Haas with international subsea capacity on both systems. This collaboration is expected to significantly improve Bru-Haas’ network architecture, which boasts Points of Presence (PoP) in strategic locations like Brunei, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles.
Both companies are committed to utilizing advanced subsea infrastructure to meet the growing demand for high-speed, low-latency connectivity across key regions in Southeast Asia and beyond.
The ADC, designed to link Southeast Asia, China, and Japan, plays a crucial role in bolstering regional connectivity. The Apricot cable system, on the other hand, enhances connectivity between Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other Asia Pacific regions.
The partnership offers several advantages. Increased network redundancy, improved resilience, and enhanced capacity to handle growing data demands are expected benefits for the enterprise market. By integrating these advanced cable systems, both companies aim to provide their customers with more reliable and high-speed connectivity options.
This positions both PLDT Global and Bru-Haas to play a key role in supporting the digital transformation of businesses and consumers across the region.
