Google showcased the power of Gemini AI by brewing a new and unique Pinoy latte. The search giant has partnered with Commune Cafe to develop a limited-edition drink inspired by the beloved bibingka.
From September 12 to 26, 2024, Commune will be serving the Special Bibingka Latte. This one-of-a-kind coffee blend was developed with the assistance of Gemini, Google’s generative AI.
To craft the drink, a series of prompts were entered to Gemini, which then presented a range of innovative flavor concepts. These concepts were then used as a springboard that inspired Commune’s baristas to develop their own blend.
Bibingka is a Filipino snack and dessert, popular during the country’s extended Christmas season, which starts in September. The Special Bibingka Latte is a blend of Commune’s espresso and steamed milk, topped with shreds of salted egg and queso de bola, and finished with a torched banana leaf.
Beyond the creation of the latte, Google also provided training to Commune Cafe staff on generative AI and Gemini. This collaboration not only resulted in a delicious drink but also helped to educate local businesses about the potential of AI technology.
Commune, known for its high-quality coffee and cozy cafe atmosphere, is located in Poblacion, Makati. The Special Bibingka Latte will be available for a limited time, only from September 12 to 26, 2024.
