Netflix has expanded its mobile game “Squid Game: Unleashed” with new characters and game modes inspired by Season 2 of the hit series. Notably, the game is now available to everyone for a limited time, regardless of Netflix subscription status.

“Squid Game is Netflix’s most watched series ever, and we want everyone around the world to be able to take part in its return by making Unleashed available to everyone, which is a first for Netflix Games,” said Alain Tascan, President, Games at Netflix.
The update adds new characters like Geum-Ja (Player 149), the devoted mother from Season 2, and Thanos (Player 230), the charismatic rapper. Players can also use Yong-Sik (Player 007), Geum-Ja’s debt-ridden son. Each character brings unique abilities to the game, such as starting with a dodgeball, utilizing shields, or launching fireworks.
New game modes offer new challenges. In “Mingle,” for example, players race to find safe rooms within a time limit.
“Squid Game: Unleashed” continues to be free-to-play with no ads or in-app purchases.
For Netflix subscribers, a “Watch Along” feature rewards players with in-game currency and exclusive items for completing episodes of Season 2. The more episodes watched, the greater the rewards.
