Filipinos still wary of AI travel tools, says report

Filipinos hesitate to use AI for travel, despite high satisfaction rates.

Many Filipinos love to travel, but few trust artificial intelligence to help plan their trips. A new global survey by Kaspersky shows that only 28% of travelers use AI for travel planning. Yet among those who do, 96% say it worked well, and 84% plan to use it again.

Despite AI’s growing role in everyday tasks like research and entertainment, it still feels unfamiliar to many. In the Philippines, where digital tools are widely used, AI adoption for travel remains low.

The survey found that travelers who used AI mostly relied on it to find activities (70%), choose hotels (66%), and get restaurant tips (60%). Fewer used it to book hotels (45%) or flights (43%).

Some even asked AI for visa advice (45%), which experts warn could be risky. One traveler missed a major event after following incorrect visa info from ChatGPT.

Kaspersky says AI can be helpful, but travelers should double-check any advice before booking.

They also recommend using a secure internet connection, avoiding public Wi-Fi, and protecting devices with strong passwords and security software.
