Samsung Galaxy S26 could use Exynos 2600 in half of all units

Samsung claims big performance gains over Apple and Qualcomm.

Samsung is bringing back its own Exynos chip to the Galaxy S series. The upcoming Galaxy S26 is expected to use the Exynos 2600 in around half of its models. This is a significant shift from recent years, when Samsung relied on Qualcomm chips.

According to a report by Hankyung, the Exynos 2600 is built using Samsung’s latest 2nm process and shows strong performance gains. Their own tests found its NPU to be over six times faster than Apple’s A19 Pro. The CPU was 14% better in multi-core tasks, and the GPU was up to 75% faster. Compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the Exynos chip also came out ahead in NPU and GPU scores.

Samsung will split chip use by region. Models sold in Korea, Europe, Japan, and China will get Exynos. US models will keep using Qualcomm chips due to local approval rules.
