Equinix has officially launched operations in the Philippines, following its acquisition of three data centers in Makati and Carmona. The facilities (MN1, MN2, and MN3) are now part of the company’s global digital infrastructure network, offering over 1,000 cabinets of capacity and room for future expansion.
The move marks Equinix’s entry into the Philippine market, aimed at supporting the country’s growing demand for cloud, AI, and network services. The company also introduced Equinix Fabric, a high-speed interconnection platform that enables businesses to connect directly to global service providers and partners.
Equinix says the new data centers will help local enterprises reduce latency, improve network resilience, and scale infrastructure more efficiently. The facilities are designed to support hybrid multicloud environments and latency-sensitive applications, making them suitable for financial services, telecoms, and other data-driven industries.
Government officials, including DICT Secretary Henry Aguda and Undersecretary Angela Ignacio, attended the launch event, highlighting the role of digital infrastructure in economic development and foreign investment.
