MyHair app uses AI to spot early signs of balding

It helps users track hair loss with photo analysis and verified reviews.

Hair loss is a sensitive topic, but not everyone feels comfortable talking about it. A new startup called MyHair AI is aiming to change that with an app that uses AI to give people a clearer picture of what’s happening on their scalp.

Users upload images of their hair, and the AI then checks for density and early signs of thinning. Over time, the app tracks changes and suggests personalized routines to protect hair health. It also connects users with specialists and clinics with verified reviews.

Founder Cyriac Lefort says the idea came after a hairdresser casually told him he was balding. The comment pushed him to explore how easily people are sold products without clear evidence. He and co‑founder Tilen Babnik built MyHair AI to bring more transparency to a market worth billions.

Unlike competitors that rely on general-purpose AI models, MyHair AI trained its system on more than 300,000 hair images. The company says this makes its diagnoses more accurate.

Hair loss ranked among the top health concerns for men. Since launching earlier this year, the app has analyzed hundreds of thousands of scalp photos, signed up over 200,000 users, and converted more than 1,000 into paying subscribers.

The app is available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
