The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has set a deadline for the shutdown of analog TV in Mega Manila. Broadcasters have 12 months to fully switch to digital, with the target completion date in November 2026.
The move is part of the country’s push to modernize broadcast services. Digital TV offers clearer reception, more channels, and better overall viewing compared to analog.
According to the NTC, around 80% of households in Mega Manila are already watching digital broadcasts. This means most viewers are ready for the change, though some homes still rely on analog.
To help with the transition, the government will roll out a 60‑day countdown and public announcements before the final switch‑off.
The directive covers Metro Manila and nearby provinces, including Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Pampanga, and Bataan. Broadcasters in the very high frequency (VHF) band have been running both analog and digital signals for years, but the regulator says it’s time to complete the migration.

The guidelines, signed on November 6, 2025, take effect 15 days after publication. By November 2026, analog TV in Mega Manila will officially be a thing of the past.
