Google Photos has a new feature called Me Meme that lets you make memes right inside the app. The tool uses generative AI to combine templates with your own photos. It is rolling out in the US in English first.
To use Me Meme, open Google Photos and tap Create > Me Meme. Pick a template or upload one, add your photo, and tap Generate. The app will instantly create a meme that you can save, share, or regenerate for another version.
Templates are at the core of the feature. They give you preset designs that work with personal images. If you want more control, you can upload your own template before generating. Once done, memes can be shared across social platforms or stored in your library.
According to Google, the feature is meant to make meme creation simpler and more accessible. Instead of using third-party apps or manual editing, you can now create memes in a few taps. The process is built into the familiar Google Photos interface, so it feels natural to use.

For first-time users, the app shows a short intro screen with a “Try Now” option. Wider availability outside the US has not yet been announced.
