Apple has rolled out iOS 26.4 to iPhone users worldwide. The update brings a mix of new tools, security updates, and a most requested fix: the keyboard bug that causes typos.
This update is available for iPhone 11 and later. To install, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
The keyboard fix addresses a long-standing issue where fast typing sometimes failed to register letters. For many users, this improvement alone should make iOS 26.4 worth downloading.
Beyond the keyboard, iOS 26.4 adds new emoji. Apple Music also adds Playlist Playground(currently limited to US users), an AI-powered playlist generator, a redesigned interface for albums and playlists, and a “Concerts Near You” tab to find shows near your area. Podcasts now support video playback with offline downloads, while Reminders adds an “Urgent” section for tasks that need alarms.
Security was also improved. Stolen Device Protection is now enabled by default, requiring Face ID or Touch ID for sensitive actions. Family Sharing allows adults to use separate payment methods, and Apple has unified account settings across its apps for easier management.
Other updates include a new Ambient Music widget, expanded accessibility options like Reduce Bright Effects, and support for Chinese (Taiwan) in Live Captions. CarPlay gains integration with AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini, though availability may vary by region.

With over 35 security vulnerabilities patched, iOS 26.4 is a recommended update. For most users, the keyboard fix alone makes it a standout improvement.
