Google\u00a0will most likely release a quad-core Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich\u00a0Nexus phone\u00a0by end of 2011. \u00a0This appears to be the case after Nvidia confirmed during its\u00a0first quarter earnings call\u00a0that its next-gen Tegra chip would power new Ice Cream Sandwich devices. It was revealed by Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of Nvidia, that the company is working closely with Google on the delivery of new products based on\u00a0Ice Cream Sandwich\u00a0Android update. \u00a0And we all learned at the\u00a0Google I\/O event\u00a0that the Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich will be released by the end of the\u00a02011. \u201cWe're really excited about the work that they're doing on Ice Cream. And I can't comment too much more other than that, but we're working very closely with their teams on the Ice Cream Sandwich,\u201d the CEO was quoted saying. \u00a0"And as all of these products - they will come to the market when they're great, and I'm certainly expecting them to be great on this year.\u201d Nvidia\u2019s Quad-core processor is called Tegra 3 and it has already been showcased as early as January of this year. \u00a0Nvidia seems to be ahead of the pack, with Jen-Hsun Huang claiming that his company has left others behind in terms of mobile quad-core technology. \u201cWe're working very closely with Google on Ice Cream Sandwich, and it's a very important new generation of operating system based on starting from the Honeycomb base and I'm expecting it to be really terrific,\u201d the Nvidia CEO said. \u201cAnd so we're working very closely with the Google team, and Tegra will be surely be wonderful for Ice Cream when it comes.\u201d The dual-core phones have just been released and they are already talking quad-core? \u00a0I was planning on getting a dual-core upgrade but this made me re-think my plan.
