Samsung Philippines recently launched the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Android tablet. It’s a 7-inch tablet as the name implies and it joins the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus in the 7-inch tablet category. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 could be the official follow up to the original Galaxy Tab if we go by Samsung’s naming system, with Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus a mere special offering. If you are to compare the specs, though, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is better overall, although it’s also more expensive.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a good option if 7 inches is your display size of choice. It’s a capable tablet and is clearly better than the original Galaxy Tab both in terms of specs and design. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 runs a 1GHz dual-core CPU with a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and complemented by 1GB of RAM. The Wi-Fi version retails for a tempting P12,990 and that gets you 16GB of internal storage and 3.15-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 720p videos, although the front camera is VGA quality only. If you opt for the Wi-Fi and 3G version, prepare to shell out P16,990.
The best option right now in the 7-inch category is Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, that is, if you can grab one. It has not been launched in the Philippines and there’s no word if it will be launched here at all. But if you can get one via other means, then you shou8ld go ahead and get one. The Nexus 7 sports a faster quad-core processor and it runs Jelly Bean, the latest and so far the best version of Android, not to mention that it’s cheaper at US$199.
For now, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is the best option in the Philippines if you are in the hunt for a quality 7-inch tablet that will not burn your pocket.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for inexperienced blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

I wonder if the G Tab 7.0 2 is upgradeable to Jelly Bean…but from what I have read in online forums, it’s going to be left for dead.
On the other hand, the Nexus 7 can be had via http://www.yugadeals.com/home/deal/62/16gb-google-nexus-7-for-only-php15999 if you want it.
