Huawei, one the rising Chinese phone brands, has just unveiled two new Android handsets in the Honor line. We know Huawei for its Ascend line of smarphones but it also has the Honor line which are cheaper than those offered in the Ascend line.
Xiaomi leads the online Android smartphone market in China with its affordable yet powerful handsets but there are many brands interested in taking that title. Huawei is one of those trying to snatch the title from Xiaomi, and it is hoping that the new Android handsets, the Honor 3X and the HOnor 3C, will help the company achieve that.
Huawei Honor 3X
The Huawei Honor 3X is the more powerful smartphone of the two. It has a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, not currently the best display, but Huawei claims that 1080p consumes more power and the difference is not that noticeable anyway.
In any case, there are other things to drool about like the Huawei Honor 3X’s octa-core 1.7GHz MT6592 CPU that is paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone also features a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera, a 5-megapixel 1.4-micron front camera, and a huge 3,000mAh battery. The Huawei Honor 3X will be the first phone to feature dual-3G SIM slots – one Mini SIM and one Micro SIM. The phone also uses a dual-mic system for in-call noise cancellation and also has DTS audio support.
The Huawei Honor 3X is priced at about $280 off-contract, which is actually very, very affordable considering the specs. I just hope this arrives in the Philippines somehow.
Huawei Honor 3C
The C in the iPhone 5c refers to color but in the Huawei Honor 3C, that probably refers to cheap or cheaper.
The Huawei Honor 3C is cheaper compared to the Honor 3X, priced at about $130 or $160 off-contract, depending on the storage capacity you get. For this price, you get a 5-inch 720p LTPS panel, a quad-core 1.3GHz MT6582 SoC with 2GB of RAM, a 2,300mAh battery, a Sony 8-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, dual-SIM slots and microSD expansion. The Huawei Honor 3C also has a dual-mic noise cancellation feature.
The 1GB Huawei Honor 3C is priced at $130 while the 2GB variant is priced at $160.
