If you haven’t heard by now, Korean electronics giant LG started 2014 with a limited-time only New Year Discount Promo on three of its mid-range smartphones: the LG G Pro Lite, the LG Optimus L7 II and the LG Optimus L5 II.
The LG G Pro Lite is a dual-sim phablet that packs an embedded stylus pen, a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display and a massive 3140 mAh battery. It has an 8MP camera with back side illumination for sharper images even in low-light settings. Under the hood you have a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek processor, 8GB of storage, a micro SD card expansion slot and 1GB of RAM. The G Pro Lite runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and now retails for only P13,990.
For those wanting a smaller screen, the LG Optimus L7 II features a 4.3 inch IPS LCD display, an 8 MP camera and a 2460 mAh battery. It has a 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor , 4GB of storage and 768MB of RAM. The L7 II runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The single sim version is now only P7,990, while the dual sim variant is P8,490.
The LG Optimus L5 II, the most affordable of the bunch, has a 4 inch screen and a 5MP camera. It’s powered by a 1GH single core Mediatek processor, with 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM. The L5 II also runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The single sim version is only P5,990.
So is it worth getting one of these phones?
If you like playing games and watching videos, you may want to take a look at the LG G Pro Lite. Its large screen and equally large battery will make sure you enjoy watching videos longer than usual. It will play most video formats out of the box, without the need for a 3rd party video player (although it wouldn’t hurt to get one from the Play Store). The PowerVR SGX531 GPU, 1GHz dual-core processor and 768MB RAM can power most games, but it will have a harder time with the more graphics heavy ones.
The LG G Pro Lite will be discounted until February 28, 2014 while the discounted LG Optimus L7 II and L5 II rates will be valid until February 16, 2014. Promo will be available in all participating LG Mobile dealers nationwide.
LG Philippines is one of the country’s biggest home electronics’ retailer. Their products includes TVs, refrigerators, washing machines and mobile phones.
