Smart Communications is going to comply with the government mandated 1-year validity of prepaid load.
Smart Prepaid one year expiry
Smart, Sun, and TNT is extending the expiry date of prepaid load to one year. This will affect prepaid loads worth Php300 and above, regardless of the validity date printed on the cards released in the market.
The Department of Information and Technology (DICT) is giving telcos up to six months to comply with the new ruling regarding prepaid load expiry dates.

If you recall, the DICT signed a Joint Memorandum Circular with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) last December 20, 2017, to approve the extension of prepaid load expiry date to one year from the date of top-up. This affects prepaid load regardless of denomination.
The new validity rule is supposed to take effect starting January 5, but DICT moved the implementation date to 6 months, or July of 2018; to give telcos time to adjust and test their systems.
