The app allows kids to safely use Facebook’s Messenger platform to video chat and message with parents and loved ones. It has a kid friendly features such as stickers, masks, frames, and GIFs.

The app also has numerous safety features to protect children. Parents have full control of the app’s contact list, and have final say as to who the kids can connect with. Messages also do not disappear and can’t be hidden, in case parents want to check.

For children to use the app, parents need only authenticate the child’s device using their own Facebook account. It won’t create a Facebook account for the child. It will just give them access to the Messenger Kids app.

The Messenger Kids app is available in Android and iOS. As of this writing, the app is not yet officially available in the Philippines.
