iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max with triple cameras now official

After much hype, Apple finally unveils the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The handsets debut with a new triple camera system and updated internals.

The iPhone 11 Pro starts at USD 999, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max at USD 1,099. Both will come in Gold, Space Gray, Silver, and the new Midnight Green. The devices will ship out in stores beginning September 20.

As expected, the iPhone 11 Pro and the 11 Pro Max come with three 12MP rear cameras with an ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto lenses. Touted by Apple to provide a pro-level camera experience, the new shooters offer 2-times optical zoom, improved optical image stabilization, and Dual Pixel auto focus.

For the front shooter, there’s a new TrueDepth camera with 12MP sensor and an f/2.2 aperture. FaceID has improved with recognition and unlocking said to be 30% faster. It now also supports more angles at varying distances.

The iPhones are both equipped with Apple’s new Super Retina XDR OLED displays with brightness rated at 1,200 nits. The 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch screen while the 11 Pro Max gets a 6.5-inch one. It supports True Tone, Dolby Vision, and HDR10.

The new iPhones are powered by the latest A13 Bionic chipset equipped with a 3rd generation Neural Engine. The processor was built on a 7nm process with 2 high performance cores and 4 power efficient cores. Apple boasts the chip to be 20% faster and 30% more efficient.

The chipset also includes a new GPU with 4-cores. This one is said to be 20% faster and 40% more power efficient than the previous generation.

The updated Neural Engine is now 3rd generation and features 8 cores. Performance is said to be 20% faster and 15% more efficient.

Apple will also debut Deep Fusion as a software update. This is a new image processing system powered by the new Neural Engine. It also has a new Night Mode as well.

iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

As for the rest of the updates, the iPhone 11 Pro and the 11 Pro Max also feature IP68 dust and water resistance (up to 4m up to 30 minutes), Wi-Fi 6 support, wireless charging, and fast charging.

Battery life of the 11 Pro is rated to last up to 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS, while the 11 Pro Max lasts up to 5 hours longer than the XS Max.

Again, the iPhone 11 Pro starts at USD 999 (roughly PHP 52,000), while the iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at USD 1,099 (around PHP 57,300). The new iPhones will probably reach the Philippines sometime November 2019.
