Apart from the realme 7 Pro, the vanilla realme 7 is also coming to the Philippines. Billed as a gaming smartphone, it is the spiritual successor of the realme 6 carrying many of its features and then some.
Both the realme 7 and the realme 7 Pro will be official in the Philippines on September 30. The launch will be livestreamed in official realme PH channels.
As for the price, again, we’ll just have to wait for the announcement.
Unboxing, first impressions
Upon opening the iconic yellow box, you’re greeted by the realme 7 unit. The handset is bundled with a silicone case, a USB Type-C cable, the 30W fast charger, warranty documentation, and a pre-installed screen protector. Like the Pro variant, they skipped on the earbuds as a cost cutting move.
Design wise, the realme 7 follows in the foots steps of realme phones before it. Unlike the 7 Pro’s sexy new body, the vanilla 7 has that distinct realme look.
Still, its a beautiful phone. Its sleek and clean, but its thick at 9.4mm and large with dimensions measuring in at 162.3mm by 75.4mm. My review unit, which is in Mist Blue, is surprisingly a looker.
At the front, we have the 6.5-inch full HD+ display with punch-hole selfie camera on the upper left. There, you have narrow bezels and a slight chin. The earpiece is on the top bezel, barely noticeable.

As a gaming phone, the display comes with features to this end — such as 90Hz refresh rate and a fast 120Hz touch sampling rate. The former makes animations look smoother, while the latter makes the phone more responsive to touches.
At the left is the SIM tray with triple slots and the volume keys. On the right is the power button. The audio jack, microphone, USB Type-C port, and a mono speaker sit at the bottom.
The realme 7 comes with a four camera setup — a 64MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP B/W, and a 2MP depth. By the way, the main camera has a Sony IMX682 sensor.

Powering the realme 7 gaming phone is a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 processor with a Mali-G76 MC4 graphics chip, 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. So far, the phone runs smoothly. Apps and games are quick to open.

Battery capacity is at 5,000mAh with 30W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. I’m getting about a day or so of use.
