PLDT Home announces MyOwnWiFi Plan – a 2nd line at half the price, same speed

PLDT Home announces MyOwnWiFi, the country’s first-ever service that provides a dedicated second internet connection at half the price. The service is now available exclusively to PLDT Home customers.

With MyOwnWiFi, existing PLDT Home subscribers can get a second internet connection at half the price of their primary connection with the same speed. It’s perfect for households that need separate connections for high-bandwidth activities.

One good example of this is families who need one dedicated connection for work-from-home, and another for online schooling, both of which need fast and reliable internet.

Here’s a quick guide on the speed and prices when you avail of a MyOwnWiFi plan.

How to Activate and Install MyOwnWiFi

You can call 171 to activate or do this online. Once the subscription is confirmed, MyOwnWiFi is activated instantly. It will use LAN Port 2 of your existing PLDT Home modem. You will be provided with a WiFi Mesh, which will serve as the second SSID (Wi-Fi) internet connection.

Upon activation, you need only do the following:

  1. Connect one end of the ethernet (LAN) cable to your existing modem’s LAN Port 2.
  2. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the WiFi Mesh bundle that comes with the MyOwnWiFi subscription, or directly to your laptop, if that’s what you prefer.
  3. Set up the WiFi Mesh to configure.

That’s it. You’re done.
