FUJIFILM launches its latest addition to the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras, the FUJIFILM X-T5, together with the new FUJINON XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro lens. The camera comes in a compact and lightweight body and boasts improved image quality.
The FUJIFILM X-T5 is the perfect companion to cover a wide variety of photographic genres from street/documentary photography, in which its mobility is a major asset, to landscape photography and portraiture, which demands superior image quality.
The mirrorless camera features a back-illuminated 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor paired with an X-Processor 5 high-speed image processing engine and a 5-axis in-body image stabilization of up to 7.0 stops. All this is wrapped in a 557g compact body, which is smaller and lighter than the previous model.
Performance enhancement achieved by the X-T5 includes improved image quality, ISO125 as a standard sensitivity, a fast shutter speed of 1/180000 sec, and the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot to expand photographic variations.
The camera also comes with the Smooth Skin Effect, Subject Detection AF capable of detecting animals and birds, and AI-based high-precision auto white balance, assisting users in creating high quality photorgraphs.
The camera inherits X-T Series’ signature Center Viewfinder style and dial operation design and a 1.84-million-dot three-way tilting LCD screen. It also comes with enhancements to add comfort to users’ photo experiences, including the ability to record 10-bit 4:2:2 video at 6.2K/30P, the viewfinder magnification of 0.8x, 3.69-million-dot EVF, and dual SD-card slots.
FUJINON XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro
FUJIFILM also announced the new FUJINON XF30mm F2.8 R LM WR Macro Lens.
The XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro is a standard prime lens with a focal length of 30mm (equivalent to 46mm in the 35mm film format). Compared to conventional standard lenses, this lens has a substantially-reduced minimum working distance and greatly-improved close-up performance, capable of macro photography at a 1:1 magnification ratio.
It can shoot a dynamic true 1:1 macro photography, meaning users can enjoy tabletop photography of going up close and personal to a subject in front of them in limited space, as well as a wide range of categories including portraiture and snapshots that take advantage of natural perspectives.
The XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro consists of 11 elements in nine groups including three aspherical elements and two ED elements with a minimum shooting distance of just 10cm despite its compact design. Due to the X Series’ use of an APS-C image sensor, a subject is photographed 1.5 times larger in full-frame equivalent.

The lens also uses the Inner Focus system, in which a linear motor drives the focusing group of elements, to deliver fast and highly accurate AF. The focusing operation is quiet and smooth even for close-ups, which involve large movements of focusing elements. Furthermore, the compact design, weighing just 195g thanks to the compact and lightweight X Mount system, enables advanced versatility and mobility, required as a standard lens with applications in diverse situations.
