OPPO A2 Pro revealed: Features curved AMOLED screen, Dimensity 7050, 4-year battery replacement plan

OPPO reveals its latest A-series smartphone, the A2 Pro, in China. The phone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 7050 chipset, and a 64MP rear camera. It also boasts of a unique four-year battery replacement plan for its 5,000mAh battery.

The OPPO A2 Pro has a sleek design with a curved screen that offers up to 240Hz touch sampling rate and up to 950 nits peak brightness. The phone is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, which supports dual-mode 5G and Wi-Fi 6. It also has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

At the back, the OPPO A2 Pro has a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 64MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. While in front, it has an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens.

The device also has a large 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging via USB-C, an in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP54 water and dust resistance rating, and dual-nano SIM support. The phone runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13.

One of the highlights of the OPPO A2 Pro is its four-year battery replacement plan. The company claims that the battery can retain 88% of its original capacity after 1,000 charge cycles, which means that it can last for four years with one charge per day. If the battery capacity falls below 80% within four years of the purchase date, OPPO will offer a free battery replacement for the users.

The OPPO A2 Pro comes in three color options: Vast Black, Desert Brown (vegan leather), and Twilight, priced at CNY 1,799 (~PHP 14,000/USD 248) for the 8GB+256GB model, CNY 1,999 (PHP 15,600/USD 275) for the 12GB+256GB model, and CNY 2,399 (PHP 18,700/USD 330) for the 12GB+512GB model.

The phone is available for pre-order in China and will go on sale on September 22.
