Netflix reveals first look at Fire Nation characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series

Netflix releases some fiery new images of the Fire Nation characters from its upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The streaming giant shared the photos to give fans a glimpse of the main antagonists of the show.

The first look images include Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, the ruthless ruler of the Fire Nation and the father of Zuko and Azula; Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh; Ken Leung as Commander Zhao; and Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula.

The photos also feature a new image of Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Ozai’s banished son who pursues Aang in hopes of restoring his honor.

Netflix previously released photos of the main cast: Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka. Other cast members include Maria Zhang as Suki, Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, Yvonne Chapman as Avatar Kyoshi, and Casey Camp-Horinek as Gran Gran.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is based on the award-winning and beloved Nickelodeon animated series of the same name, which aired from 2005 to 2008.

It follows the adventures of Aang, a young boy who is the reincarnated Avatar, the master of all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. Along with his friends Katara, Sokka, and later Toph, Aang travels across the world to learn the four elements and stop the Fire Nation from conquering the other nations.

The live-action series is created by Albert Kim, who serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.

The directors are Jabbar Raisani, Michael Goi, Roseanne Liang, and Jet Wilkinson. Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore are also executive producers from Rideback. The show is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
