The OPPO A79 5G is now official and recently launched in India. The device features compelling specs, such as a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, a 50MP main camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.
The OPPO A79 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, along with support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and USB-C.
It runs on Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1 and has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. It also has an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance and dual stereo speakers with an Ultra Volume Mode that can boost the sound output up to 300%.
At the back, the OPPO A79 5G sports a dual camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. While the front camera is an 8MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture with several features, including 1080P@30fps video, beauty mode, time lapse, and exposure compensation.
The phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging technology that can charge the device from zero to 51% in 30 minutes via USB-C.
The OPPO A79 5G is priced at INR 19,999 (about ₱13,700) for the sole 8GB+128GB variant, available in two color options: Mystery Black and Glowing Green. The latter features a unique Glowing Feather design that resembles a bird’s feather.
There is no word yet on when the OPPO A79 5G will come to other markets.
