ASUS teases the ROG Phone 8 with a new design and powerful specs

ASUS ROG teased its upcoming gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 8, on X. The teaser reveals some interesting details about the phone’s design and hints at its powerful performance.

The ROG Phone 8 sports a square-shaped camera island on the back, with a triple camera setup and a ROG logo that can light up in different colors. The phone also has a flat design, unlike the previous ROG Phone models that had curved edges. This could make it easier to hold and use the phone, especially for gaming.

The teaser is accompanied by the slogan “Beyond gaming”, suggesting that the ROG Phone 8 will offer some innovative features and capabilities that go beyond the gaming realm. However, the teaser does not reveal much else about the phone’s specifications or features.

According to a leak on Geekbench, the ROG Phone 8 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is the latest and most powerful processor from Qualcomm. The leak also revealed that the phone will have a whopping 24GB of RAM, which is more than enough for any gaming or multitasking needs. Other reports also point to a 65W fast charging, which could charge the phone’s battery in a matter of minutes.

The phone will likely have a high refresh rate display, a large battery, and a dedicated cooling system, among other features, like its predecessors. The series is known for its gaming-oriented features, such as air triggers, game modes, and accessories, that enhance the gaming experience.

The ROG Phone 8 Series is expected to launch in early 2024. Stay tuned for more details.
