Moondrop teases hi-fi smartphone

The audio company teases the Moondrop MIAD01 on its website.

Moondrop will soon release a hi-fi smartphone. The audio company teased on its website the Moondrop MIAD01.

The MIAD01 is marked as “coming soon” with the words “5G HiFi Mobile Audio Device” and the tagline “explore the integration of art and reason”. Moondrop is a popular audio company amongst the Chi-fi (short for Chinese hi-fi) and audio crowd for its IEMs and headphones.

Looking at the teaser, we can expect a flat phone with more angular curves on the edges and 5G support. Moondrop hasn’t revealed any details about the device, but since it’s them, we can assume it’s going to be marketed for audio enthusiasts.

Also, we expect to see a built-in DAC (digital-to-analog converter), support for multiple high-end wireless codecs for lossless and hi-fi playback, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and good stereo speakers.

Unfortunately, the teaser page is all we have at this point. No launch date has been set either. Stay tuned.
