nubia Flip 5G announced with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, 6.9-inch OLED, 50MP camera

An affordable mid-range flip phone.

MWC 2024 is as exciting as ever, showcasing what’s in store for the smartphone industry. One of the new devices to expect this year is the nubia Flip 5G, a flip phone with a promising set of features.

The nubia Flip 5G is a rebranded version of the ZTE Libero Flip that launched in Japan last week. It has a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 2790×1188 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate on the inside and flips over to showcase a 1.43-inch round display with a 466×466 resolution on the cover.

The flip phone features a dual-rail suspended hinge that’s rated to last over 200,000 unfolding. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor under the hood with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

At the back, the phone has a dual camera setup with a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It also has a 16MP front shooter for selfies. Like other flip phones, one side of the screen, when half-folded, functions as a viewfinder when taking photos or videos.

The handset also features Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and IP42 dust and water resistance.

The nubia Flip 5G is priced at USD 599 (around P33,600), making it a wallet-friendly mid-range option. There’s no news yet of availability in other regions, but hopefully, it makes it in the Philippines.
