Zed launches credit card designed for young Filipino professionals

The credit card offers no annual, interest, or foreign transaction fees.

Zed launched the first credit card specifically designed for young Filipino professionals. This new product promises to eliminate the common hurdles associated with traditional credit cards by offering no annual, interest, or foreign transaction fees.

“We founded Zed on the belief that young people in the Philippines and Southeast Asia deserve better financial products, better technology, and ultimately better service tailored to their lifestyles and exceeding their expectations,” said Danielle Cojuangco Abraham, Zed co-founder.

Regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Zed is not just a credit card issuer but a credit-led neobank that leverages technology to streamline services.

The Mastercard Titanium credit card, Zed’s flagship offering, is complemented by a state-of-the-art app that simplifies everyday spending, travel, and utility payments.

The app provides real-time transaction visibility, spending limits, and fraud control features, such as the ability to lock a compromised card instantly.

Steve Abraham, Zed co-founder, highlights the company’s ethos: “As a technology company from day one, we don’t have to pay for costly overhead like physical branches or bloated headcounts for manual, back office processes. We’re able to pass these savings on to customers in the form of no revolving interest, no fees, and excellent customer service.”

Zed also prioritizes user privacy and security. Users can generate unique credit card numbers to use with merchants without exposing their primary card details, and Zed’s zero liability policy ensures customers are not held responsible for unauthorized transactions.

The payment experience is equally seamless. Customers can use the app to generate an InstaPay QR code, which can be scanned from any bank app or e-wallet, allowing for timely bill settlement.

The public’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, with nearly 25,000 individuals signing up for the waitlist within the first three weeks of the announcement.
