The Philippine ride-hailing scene just got a new player with the arrival of UTOL (Unified Transport Operations League). This Filipino-developed app recently secured accreditation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and is setting itself apart with a focus on affordability.

Unlike established competitors, UTOL boasts lower surge rates, making it an attractive option for cost-conscious commuters in Metro Manila.
The app has already launched in select areas – Quezon City, Makati City, Parañaque City, and Alabang in Muntinlupa – with 600 drivers and operators already on board.
The company is targeting to cover the National Capital Region by June before setting its sights on nearby provinces, with plans to recruit additional drivers. Notably, it is reaching out to jeepney operators and drivers who were left behind by the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization program.
Currently, UTOL focuses on four-wheeled vehicles. However, the government is piloting two-wheeled ride-hailing options. Once regulations are finalized, UTOL plans to integrate motorcycles, offering even more choices for Filipino commuters.
You can download the UTOL app on the Google Play Store for Android phones and the Apple App Store for iPhones.
